I am Joe Huggins, a native of North Carolina and resident of Brunswick County for over 6 years. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University and have an MBA from Gardner-Webb University. I have over 15 years’ experience in sales, banking and financial services. I served in the US Army and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I am married and have two grown sons. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, kayaking and rehabilitating distressed or outdated homes. 

Real estate has been a passion of mine for over the past 25 years. My wife and I have renovated and sold 14 properties (three of those in the Southport/Oak Island area and one in St James Plantation). We also own Homework Interiors, LLC, a home staging and redecorating company and for the past three years we have been assisting homeowners prepare their homes for sale by staging, performing repairs and general maintenance. 

Recently, I decided to pursue my long-term dream of obtaining my broker/ realtor license. I feel that I have a unique perspective based on my background in sales, banking and home renovation and that will be beneficial to my clients. I earned the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation from the National Association of Realtors.  In addition, I finished the training for an Accredited Buyers Representative and Military Relocation Professional.  This sets me aside as a person that can help you make the best housing transition as you age and your situation changes.  

If you are considering the sale of your home, I will do what is necessary to get your house sold. I provide concierge services such as free staging consultation, professional measuring of the property, photography services (drone, Matterport, virtual tour) and online advertising through various social media platforms.  

In my 29 years of military service, I have always strived to achieve the mission and zero in the target at hand. I will put that same dedication and drive into serving each of my client’s individual needs as I did serving our country.
